Fatal Cypress Hills stabbing death of Alvin Francis – Obituary

Alvin Francis, a 41-year-old man from St. Albans, was killed Sunday afternoon after being stabbed aboard an MTA shuttle bus in the Cypress Hills neighborhood of Brooklyn. Authorities have not yet made any arrests in connection with his death.

Police responded to a 911 call just before 2 p.m. near the intersection of Crescent and Etna streets, where they found Francis with a stab wound to the abdomen. The incident occurred on the J90 shuttle bus, which was running as a substitute for J train service during track maintenance. Emergency responders transported Francis to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

The NYPD has not released any details about a possible suspect or motive, and it remains unclear how many other passengers were present during the attack. The MTA deferred comment to law enforcement.

Francis’s death was part of a deadly weekend in New York City, which saw five homicides across multiple boroughs. Investigators are continuing to gather evidence and seek witnesses in connection with the stabbing.
