Elizabeth Odunsi, 23, was tragically found dead in her apartment after being stabbed multiple times. The suspect, her 40-year-old roommate Chester Lamar Grant, was discovered in critical condition with a stab wound, possibly self-inflicted. Police were called to the apartment complex on April 26 for a welfare check after no response at the door, leading to the discovery of Odunsi’s body.

Investigators believe a fight over Grant’s cat escalated into the fatal attack. Odunsi was just days away from graduating with a nursing degree from Texas Women’s University when the incident occurred. Grant has been charged with murder, and his bond is set at $500,000.
