Timothy O’Neil dies in fatal Lynnfield home incident

Timothy O’Neil dies in fatal Lynnfield home incident

Fatal Lynnfield home death of Timothy O’Neil – Obituary

Timothy O’Neil, a 55-year-old Lynnfield resident, was found dead Friday evening inside a residence on Lookout Terrace, prompting an active investigation by local and state authorities. Responding to a 911 call around 8:30 p.m., officers discovered O’Neil suffering from visible injuries and pronounced him dead at the scene.

While the exact circumstances surrounding his death have not been disclosed, investigators say there is no indication of a broader public threat. Neighbors described O’Neil as a kind and helpful man, and the incident has left the typically quiet community in shock.

Residents like Erica Phillips expressed unease, recalling the heavy police presence that night and noting how unusual such violence is in the area. Another neighbor, Melissa Gonzalez, remembered O’Neil as a generous and positive presence in the neighborhood.

The investigation is being handled by the Lynnfield Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. No arrests have been reported, and the community continues to seek answers as officials work to determine what happened.
