Fatal Lexington moped crash death of Jaems Newton – Obituary

Jaems Newton, 64, tragically passed away after a moped collision in Lexington on May 4. The crash occurred at the intersection of West High Street and Oliver Lewis Way, where Newton’s moped collided with another vehicle.

Despite efforts to save him, Newton succumbed to multiple blunt force injuries about 12 hours later. His death has been ruled an accident by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.

The driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene, and authorities are still investigating the cause of the collision. This marks the 16th fatal crash in Lexington this year, compared to seven at this time last year.
