Authorities have identified James Bigelow, 60, as the man who was fatally shot Saturday evening in North Philadelphia.
The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of West Huntingdon and North Chadwick Streets, where officers found Bigelow suffering from several gunshot wounds to the torso. He was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:50 p.m.
According to investigators, the suspect fled the scene in a dark-colored SUV, which was later discovered abandoned near 21st and Nedro Streets. Police recovered at least seven shell casings from the crime scene.
As the search for the shooter continues, Philadelphia police are offering a $20,000 reward for information that results in an arrest or conviction. Anyone with relevant details is urged to contact the Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334 or anonymously at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
