Fatal Hartford shooting death of Jared Floyd – Obituary

A deadly shooting occurred Wednesday afternoon on Capitol Avenue in Hartford, taking the life of 25-year-old Jared Floyd.

According to Lt. Aaron Boisvert from the Hartford Police Department, officers were dispatched to 1063 Capitol Avenue at approximately 1:28 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire from a resident in the area. When police arrived, they discovered Floyd at the scene, unresponsive from gunshot wounds.

Floyd was rushed to a nearby hospital, but despite efforts to save him, he was later pronounced dead.

The Hartford Police Department’s Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
