Fatal Columbia cement truck crash death of Javon Hardy – Obituary

Javon Hardy, 31, of Columbia, tragically lost his life after being involved in a collision with a cement truck on May 7.

The accident occurred just after 12:45 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Calhoun Street.

According to the Richland County Coroner’s Office, Hardy, who was on the sidewalk, turned onto Calhoun Street and was struck by a cement truck making a turn from Main Street.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, Hardy succumbed to his injuries. The Columbia Police Department is continuing its investigation into the incident.
