Richard Murphy dies in fatal Franklinton shooting

Fatal Franklinton shooting death of Richard Murphy – Obituary

Richard Murphy, 19, has been identified by Columbus police as the victim of a deadly shooting that occurred Monday evening in the Franklinton neighborhood.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire shortly before 5:30 p.m. in the 20 block of South Princeton Avenue. When they arrived, they found Murphy suffering from gunshot wounds and unresponsive.

He was rushed to Grant Medical Center in critical condition but was pronounced dead at 6:02 p.m.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including identifying suspects and uncovering a possible motive. At this time, no arrests have been made.
