Fatal Carter County car crash death of Averiee Osmundson – Obituary
Averiee Osmundson, an 18-year-old high school senior from Davis, Oklahoma, lost her life in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning in Carter County.
The accident took place on Foothill Road, about three miles north of Springer and just west of U.S. Highway 77. According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Osmundson was driving east when her vehicle veered off the left side of the road. She overcorrected, re-entered the roadway, and the vehicle rolled over multiple times.
Osmundson was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
She was a senior at Davis High School and was scheduled to graduate later this month. The school district expressed its sorrow in a social media post, announcing that grief counseling and support would be available to students and staff beginning Monday.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, which remains undetermined at this time.
The sudden loss of Averiee Osmundson has left the Davis community heartbroken, as friends, classmates, and family mourn the loss of a young life full of promise.
