Fatal Craighead County car crash deaths of Charles Turner and Dustin Bynum – Obituary

Charles Turner, 37, of Leachville, and Dustin Bynum, 31, of Cherokee Village, lost their lives in a single-vehicle accident early Sunday morning in Craighead County.

According to Arkansas State Police, the crash happened at 1:20 a.m. on May 11 at the intersection of Highway 18 and County Road 575. Turner was driving a 2002 Honda when he lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the roadway and struck a culvert. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn twice.

Both Turner and Bynum were ejected from the car during the initial collision and were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities noted that the crash occurred during rainy conditions, which resulted in slick roads.

The investigation into the fatal crash remains ongoing.
