Fatal Huntsville shooting death of Christopher Keunta Hatcher – Obituary

Christopher Keunta Hatcher, 24, was identified as the individual who died following an accidental shooting in downtown Huntsville on Monday afternoon. The incident took place around 12:30 p.m. on the 100 block of Jefferson Street.

According to Huntsville Police, officers arrived at the scene and discovered Hatcher inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Huntsville Hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities stated that a juvenile inside the car at the time of the incident unintentionally discharged the firearm. Based on the investigation, no criminal charges will be pursued.

Huntsville Police have closed the case as an accidental shooting.
