Fatal Wood County car crash death of Dane Knapp Sr. – Obituary

Dane Knapp Sr., 42, of Auburn, lost his life Monday in a two-vehicle collision at a Wood County intersection. Authorities say the incident happened when Knapp was driving along Defiance Pike and did not yield at the Dixie Highway intersection.

His vehicle was struck on the passenger side by a pickup truck, resulting in a deadly impact. Emergency responders pronounced Knapp dead at the crash site.

The pickup truck’s driver escaped unharmed, while a passenger in the truck was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The Wood County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the crash.
