David Shaulis dies in fatal Bishopville shooting – Monday, May 12, 2025

Fatal Bishopville shooting death of David Shaulis – Obituary

David Shaulis, 57, was shot and killed Monday night in a home located on Shell Mill Road in Bishopville, Maryland. Maryland State Police responded to the residence just before 9:30 p.m. after receiving a 911 call from a woman who reported her boyfriend had been shot.

Upon arriving at the scene, troopers encountered 61-year-old Bonnie Hackendorn, who led them to Shaulis, found lying on the floor with a gunshot wound. Emergency responders declared him dead at the scene.

The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit launched an investigation, and based on collected evidence, Hackendorn was arrested. She now faces charges including first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, and multiple firearm offenses.

Hackendorn is currently being held without bail at the Worcester County Detention Center. The investigation remains ongoing.
