Fatal Bakersfield construction site death of Edin Navarijo – Obituary

Edin Navarijo, 39, lost his life after a tragic accident at a construction site in southwest Bakersfield on May 5. Authorities confirmed that he was the individual who fell approximately 20 feet into a trench within another trench near Stockdale Highway and Wegis Avenue.

According to the Kern County Coroner’s Office, Navarijo was fatally injured when he was struck by a piece of construction machinery during the fall. Emergency personnel from both Kern and Bakersfield fire departments responded to the scene to assist with recovery efforts.

His body was retrieved in the early hours of Tuesday morning around 2 a.m.

Investigations into the accident are currently underway, with CAL OSHA and local law enforcement agencies examining the circumstances surrounding the
