Fatal Macon shooting death of Jarvis Curtis – Obituary
A deadly shooting in Macon’s Freedom Park on Monday night claimed the life of 39-year-old Jarvis Curtis, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched to the 3300 block of Roff Avenue shortly after 11:30 p.m. in response to a report of a person found unresponsive near the lake in Freedom Park. When authorities arrived, they discovered Curtis suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bibb County Coroner’s Office.
On Tuesday, Coroner Leon Jones officially identified the deceased as Jarvis Curtis and confirmed that his family had been informed.
The sheriff’s office is currently investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting. No suspects have been publicly identified, and the case remains active.
