Jesus Alexis Beltran Aragon dies in fatal Southeast Bakersfield car crash

Fatal Southeast Bakersfield car crash death of Jesus Alexis Beltran Aragon – Obituary

Jesus Alexis Beltran Aragon, 23, of Bakersfield, lost his life in a two-vehicle collision near Valley Plaza Mall on Saturday night.

The crash occurred around 8:50 p.m. at the intersection of Hughes Lane and Holden Way. According to Bakersfield Police, Aragon was a passenger in an SUV that was making a turn from Hughes Lane onto Holden Way when it crossed into the path of an oncoming vehicle heading north. The impact caused the SUV to flip over, trapping Aragon beneath it. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another passenger in the SUV sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the other vehicle suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a different hospital.

Authorities noted that speed is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, though the possibility of alcohol or drug use is being investigated pending toxicology results. The investigation remains ongoing.
