Kimberly Terhune dies in fatal Wabaunsee County car crash

Fatal Wabaunsee County car crash death of Kimberly Terhune – Obituary

Kimberly G. Terhune, a 64-year-old resident of Maple Hill, lost her life in a tragic accident on Interstate 70 in Wabaunsee County late Tuesday morning, May 13, 2025.

 

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, around 11:15 a.m., Terhune was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe westbound on I-70, east of Keene Eskridge Road, when her vehicle veered into the median and crossed into the eastbound lanes. The Hyundai entered the passing lane and collided head-on with a Ram 1500 truck.

 

Terhune was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash. The Ram’s driver received minor injuries, while the passenger was seriously hurt. Both were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

 

The incident prompted a temporary closure of the eastbound lanes of I-70 as multiple emergency responders arrived at the crash site. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
