Fatal Lakeland double homicide crash death of Nathaniel Jones – Obituary
Nathaniel Jones, 38, was one of two men killed in a tragic incident on Monday in Lakeland, Florida, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. The other victim was identified as 19-year-old Davin Boutwell.
Jones was reportedly riding his electric bike along Pirates Way on his way to visit his brother before work when he was struck by a Mercedes. The car then crashed into a nearby home, and both Jones and the driver, Boutwell, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members shared that Jones, affectionately known as “Nat,” was a beloved figure in the Medulla community. His uncle, Kenny Tarvar, said Jones deeply loved his children and brought joy to those around him. Cousin Jack Williams recalled growing up admiring him and highlighted Jones’ involvement in local car culture and his positive spirit.
Authorities discovered Boutwell had been shot in the chest before the crash. Sheriff Grady Judd said the shooting appeared to have occurred during a drug transaction in the Secret Cove area and confirmed that investigators have video evidence of the incident.
No suspects have been publicly identified, and the case remains under active investigation. Law enforcement encourages anyone with information to contact Heartland Crime Stoppers anonymously.
