Fatal Hammond shooting death of Raleign Honor – Obituary
Hammond authorities are looking into a tragic triple shooting that left one person dead and two others, including a 2-year-old, wounded early Monday morning.
The incident occurred around 2:48 a.m. in the parking lot of The Soap Opera of Hammond, located at 1001 North Morrison Boulevard.
Police responded to the scene and discovered three victims: Bradley Blunt, 23, Raleign Honor, 22, and a 2-year-old child. Blunt later succumbed to his injuries, while Honor and the child suffered non-life-threatening wounds.
Investigators revealed that Raleign Honor had called 911 before the shooting, claiming she was in fear for her safety. The dispatcher advised Honor and Blunt to pull over and wait for authorities.
As they parked in a well-lit area, 23-year-old Janvourian Franklin approached their vehicle with two guns and opened fire on the occupants. Blunt was fatally shot, while Honor and the toddler were transported to the hospital.
Authorities also arrested Franklin’s sister, 20-year-old Demetrian Anderson, who faces charges related to the incident. She allegedly drove Franklin to the scene and later took him to the hospital, knowing he was armed and intending to commit the shooting.
The Hammond Police Department is urging anyone dealing with domestic violence to seek help and contact authorities. Those with information on the case are encouraged to reach out to Detective Randall Baudier at the Hammond Police Department.
