Fatal Charleston car crash deaths of Tiara Pitts and Katelyn Berger – Obituary

Tiara Pitts, 29, and Katelyn Berger, 30, both residents of Charleston, were killed in a tragic accident that occurred early Sunday morning near the I-77/I-64 split in Charleston, West Virginia.

The crash happened shortly after 4 a.m. on Mother’s Day when the minivan they were traveling in veered off the elevated section of the interstate and plummeted to a gravel lot below. Pitts was reportedly driving the vehicle, with Berger as a passenger.

Two other passengers in the vehicle, 19-year-old Javon Cousins of Dunbar and 29-year-old Fontain Nelson of Charleston, survived the fall but sustained injuries. Both men are currently in stable condition at the hospital.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
