Fatal Marlboro County motorcycle crash death of Zonya Jensen – Obituary

Zonya Jensen, a resident of Pennsylvania, was confirmed as the motorcyclist who died in a crash that took place Monday in Marlboro County, South Carolina, according to Coroner De’Aron Smith. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident occurred at approximately 11:25 a.m. along Highway 15, just south of McColl. Officials say Jensen was riding a 2020 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when she attempted to pass a 2020 Kenworth tractor-trailer while both vehicles were headed south. She lost control and collided with the truck, said Cpl. David Jones.

Authorities from both the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office confirmed that the driver of the tractor-trailer sustained injuries as a result of the collision.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing as officials work to determine the exact circumstances.
