Bob Hallett, 61, the CEO of Skydive DeLand, died in a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday morning in DeLand, Florida. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened just before 8 a.m. at the intersection of West New York Avenue and North Shell Road.

 

Emergency crews from DeLand Fire and Rescue arrived quickly after the collision involving a 2018 Toyota Tacoma and a 2023 RAM truck. First responders worked to assist those involved, but Hallett, who was driving the Toyota, was declared dead at the scene.

 

The individuals in the RAM truck, a driver and passenger, were taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

 

Skydive DeLand, a well-known skydiving facility in Volusia County with international recognition, confirmed Hallett’s passing and mourned the loss of a respected leader in the skydiving world. His death has left a profound void both in the local community and among skydiving enthusiasts worldwide.
