Fatal Marengo motorcycle crash death of Brandon Klaassens – Obituary

Brandon Klaassens, a 19-year-old Marengo resident, died in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, just days before his 20th birthday, according to the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.

Officials say Klaassens was riding a 2018 Indian Scout motorcycle near the intersection of County Line and Harmony roads when he was unable to manage a curve, causing him to veer off the road and into a ditch. He was ejected from the motorcycle as a result of the crash.

Emergency responders from Marengo Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene around 3:24 p.m. and found a bystander attempting CPR on Klaassens. He was transported to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and the coroner’s office are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
