Carlos Thomas dies in fatal Dover motorcycle crash

Fatal Dover motorcycle crash death of Carlos Thomas – Obituary

Carlos Thomas, 58, of Dover, lost his life in a motorcycle accident that occurred early Sunday morning, May 11, according to the Dover Police Department.

Officers responded to the area of White Oak Road and Garrison Oak Drive shortly after 4:14 a.m. following reports of a serious crash involving a Kawasaki motorcycle. When they arrived, they found Thomas in a field near the roadway, having been ejected from the motorcycle. Despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial findings from the investigation indicate that the motorcycle had been traveling west on White Oak Road, west of Garrison Oak Drive, when it veered off the road, hit a ditch, and threw the rider from the bike. The exact reason why the motorcycle left the roadway is still unknown.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash, including whether alcohol or drugs may have been factors. Thomas’s body has been turned over to the Medical Examiner’s Office for further analysis.
