Fatal Tennessee tow yard vehicle death of Dale Hilsabeck – Obituary
Dale Hilsabeck, 63, from Lansing, Michigan, was found deceased inside his vehicle at a tow yard in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, earlier this month, police confirmed.
Authorities began investigating the suspicious death on May 1 after employees at E.A. Towing discovered Hilsabeck’s body while processing a tow lien on his 2007 Hummer H3, which had been abandoned and towed from a Walmart parking lot on April 5.
The body was located in the rear of the locked vehicle, resting on a sleeping mat. Workers were alerted to the situation by the presence of flies and a strong odor coming from the back of the Hummer.
The vehicle’s windows were covered with blackout material, obstructing visibility inside. Additionally, the rear seat was folded flat, making it difficult to see the area where Hilsabeck was found from the front window.
Law enforcement officials continue their investigation and are awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of death. The towing company and Walmart have been cooperating with the ongoing inquiry.
