Fatal Colorado Springs shooting death of Lisa West – Obituary

Lisa West, 34, was fatally shot on Tuesday morning inside her apartment at the Mountain Shadows Apartments in Colorado Springs. Police discovered her body with a single gunshot wound after responding to a reported burglary around 11:30 a.m. at the complex on Fontmore Road.

Authorities later identified Kevin Wells, 36, as the suspect. According to the arrest affidavit, Wells called police claiming someone was trying to break into his home while his girlfriend was inside. Not long after, his father informed police that Wells had confessed to shooting Lisa during an argument, saying she had struck him before he fired the weapon. His employer also reported receiving a text from Wells admitting to the shooting.
