Fatal Scott County car crash death of Robert Dempsey Jr. – Obituary

Robert Dempsey Jr., a 66-year-old resident of Davenport, Iowa, was killed in a head-on collision that occurred on the evening of Monday, May 12, along Allens Grove Road in Scott County.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office reported that the crash happened just before 7 p.m. near the 24000 block of Allens Grove Road. A northbound 2006 Chevrolet Silverado driven by an 18-year-old man from Walcott collided head-on with a southbound 1992 Ford F-150 driven by Dempsey.

The younger driver managed to get out of his vehicle before it caught fire and was later taken to the hospital, where he remains in stable condition. In contrast, Dempsey was found trapped inside his Ford truck when emergency crews arrived. Medical personnel confirmed his death at the scene.
