Michael J. Scofield dies in fatal Bluefield pedestrian crash

Fatal Bluefield pedestrian crash death of Michael J. Scofield – Obituary

Michael J. Scofield, a 45-year-old resident of Bluefield, Virginia, lost his life in a tragic pedestrian collision on Route 460 in Bluefield, West Virginia, during the early hours of May 8.

Authorities from the Bluefield Police Department reported that a Dodge Ram traveling eastbound struck Scofield around 12:08 a.m. The driver immediately contacted emergency services after realizing he had hit a person.

Responding officer D.W. Lester arrived on the scene and administered CPR until emergency medical personnel took over. Despite their efforts, Scofield was pronounced dead at the location, near the intersection of Route 460 and Route 598 close to Cole Chevy.

The report notes that Scofield was dressed in dark clothing and walking within the roadway at the time of the incident. No charges have been filed, and the investigation is still underway.
