Authorities have identified 38-year-old Bryan Parada as the man who was killed in a shooting on Friday, May 16, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The Colorado Springs Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 2800 block of East Pikes Peak Avenue near Powers Boulevard and Airport Road. When officers arrived, they discovered Parada had suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, the suspected shooter, 49-year-old Emmanuel Cooley, was taken into custody nearby and has since been charged with first-degree murder.
An autopsy was performed by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office on Monday, May 19, confirming Parada’s identity. While the official cause of death is still under review, the case is being treated as a homicide.
