Fatal Sylacauga shooting death of Christopher Cornell Keith – Obituary
Authorities in Sylacauga, Alabama, are working to identify the suspect responsible for a deadly shooting that occurred on May 11. The incident left one man dead and another injured.
Talladega County’s emergency line received an initial call reporting gunshots near East 5th Street. Shortly afterward, dispatchers were informed that bullets were being fired at a vehicle on Curran Street, near North Broadway Avenue.
After investigating, police concluded that the actual shooting took place at the crossroads of North Louisville Avenue and East 5th Street.
Christopher Cornell Keith was rushed to Coosa Valley Medical Center and later transferred to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Another man, 29-year-old Sylavonta Dvon Mays from Sylacauga, was also taken to Coosa Valley Medical Center. He was treated for injuries and later discharged.
