Fatal Prescott Valley paragliding crash death of Dylan Wallace – Obituary

Dylan Wallace, a 27-year-old man from Prescott Valley, tragically lost his life in a powered paragliding accident that occurred Friday morning in Yavapai County.

At around 7:45 a.m., a Chino Valley police officer observed a powered paraglider flying over Fain Ranch near Fain Road. Witnesses reported that the aircraft suddenly veered before entering a steep, uncontrolled descent, ultimately crashing nearby.

Upon witnessing the crash, the officer immediately contacted emergency services and ran approximately half a mile to the impact location, where a small brush fire had ignited as a result of the crash. Local residents and the officer managed to control the fire’s spread until firefighters could take over.

Wallace was pronounced dead at the scene. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office extended its heartfelt condolences to Wallace’s family and expressed gratitude to the community members and first responders who provided quick assistance.

Authorities confirmed the vegetation fire was caused by the crash, though the exact reason for the accident is still under investigation.
