Fatal Liberty Township car crash death of Sajandeep Singh – Obituary
Seventeen-year-old Sajandeep Singh, a resident of West Chester Township and a student in the Lakota Local Schools district, tragically passed away on May 14 following a two-vehicle accident in Liberty Township. The incident occurred on Mauds Hughes Road, and Singh succumbed to his injuries at the University of Cincinnati West Chester Hospital, according to a statement from the Butler County Coroner’s Office.
Authorities report that Singh was heading north on Mauds Hughes Road in a Honda Civic when his vehicle veered across the center line and collided directly with a southbound 2021 Ford Transit. An autopsy was performed, and the coroner’s office classified the preliminary cause of death as accidental.
The Lakota school district acknowledged Singh as one of their students, though they initially withheld his identity until receiving consent from his family. “We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our students,” the district shared in a statement. “We offer our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones and everyone impacted by this tragedy.”
Singh’s death is the third fatal vehicle-related incident involving a Lakota Local Schools student in just over a year. On March 23, 2024, 14-year-old Lakota West freshman Laith Masri died in a crash at Verity Parkway and Hughes Street, which also injured four other students. Then, on May 15, 2024, 15-year-old Aspen Dylan Runnels was hit by a vehicle while crossing the street near Lakota East Freshman Campus and later died from his injuries.
