Thongthai Xanaxay, a 55-year-old man, has been identified as the victim who was fatally struck by a vehicle in Sacramento.

The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on May 16 near the intersection of Norwood and Eleanor Avenues, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Emergency responders found Xanaxay with critical injuries and rushed him to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away, police confirmed on Monday.

Authorities stated that the driver involved in the collision remained at the scene and fully cooperated with law enforcement. Preliminary findings indicate that neither alcohol nor drugs played a role in the incident.
