Austin Rhodes dies in fatal El Paso car crash

Fatal El Paso car crash death of Austin Rhodes – Obituary

U.S. Army Specialist Austin Rhodes, 24, was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Monday morning, May 19, on Spur 601 near Biggs Army Airfield at Fort Bliss in El Paso.

 

Rhodes served as a Patriot missile system fire control operator with the 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, part of the 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command. The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m., according to Maj. Arturo “Art” Rodriguez, a spokesperson for Fort Bliss.

 

Fort Bliss extended its deepest sympathies to Rhodes’ loved ones following the tragic accident.

 

The El Paso Police Department’s Special Traffic Investigations Unit is currently examining the circumstances surrounding the crash. Further information will be released as the investigation progresses.
