Fatal Louisville pedestrian crash death of Jessica Spaulding – Obituary

Jessica Spaulding, 42, was killed early Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle while walking along Dixie Highway in Louisville, Kentucky.

 

The incident happened shortly after 3 a.m. near Shipley Lane, where officers with the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian. Initially misidentified as a man, the victim was later confirmed by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office to be Spaulding.

 

Authorities said Spaulding was wearing dark clothing and walking in the southbound lanes of Dixie Highway when she was hit by a vehicle traveling in the same direction. The driver stopped immediately and called 911.

 

She was pronounced dead at 3:28 a.m. at the scene due to multiple blunt force injuries. LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating the crash, though no charges are anticipated. The road was reopened just before 7 a.m.
