John Charles Young dies in fatal Berkeley County incident

Fatal Berkeley County incident death of John Charles Young – Obituary

Authorities have confirmed that John Charles Young, 70, from Moncks Corner, was the individual whose body was discovered washed ashore Tuesday afternoon in Berkeley County, South Carolina.

Berkeley County deputies were called to the Short Stay Recreational Center around 2 p.m., approximately 10 miles from Moncks Corner, according to Chief Deputy Jeremy Baker. Emergency teams from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, Berkeley County EMS, and East Berkeley Fire & Rescue also responded to the scene.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the official cause of death.
