Emergency responders treated Thomas at the scene before transporting him to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities stated that video footage and witness accounts suggested that excessive speed likely played a role in the crash.

The Colorado Springs Police Department’s Major Crash Team has taken over the investigation. This incident marks the eleventh traffic-related fatality in Colorado Springs for 2025, a decrease compared to the 18 deaths recorded by this time last year.
