Samuel Rosa, 66, passed away from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash that took place in Southeast Austin earlier this month. The Austin Police Department reported that the accident happened on May 4 in the 4600 block of E. William Cannon Drive just before 1 p.m.

Rosa, who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. After battling his injuries for nearly two weeks, he was pronounced dead on May 17.

This incident marks Austin’s 33rd fatal collision of 2025, contributing to a total of 37 traffic-related deaths so far this year. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by local authorities.
