Fatal Kailua drowning death of Binh Tran – Obituary

Binh Tran, a 59-year-old man from Honolulu, passed away after an apparent drowning incident on Tuesday morning in Kailua. The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed his identity, though the exact cause and manner of death remain under investigation.

The incident happened around 10:15 a.m. near the “Flag Poles” area between Kalama Beach Park and Kailua Beach Park. Witnesses reported seeing Tran struggling in waist-deep water before Good Samaritans pulled him out. Lifeguards performed CPR at the scene, and Honolulu EMS continued treatment, but unfortunately, Tran was later pronounced dead.
