Diana Hoffman dies in fatal Rockford house fire

Fatal Rockford house fire death of Diana Hoffman – Obituary

Diana Hoffman, 46, lost her life during a tragic house fire that occurred early Monday morning in Rockford, Illinois. The fire broke out in the 3900 block of Preston Street around 6:18 a.m. on May 12th. Responding firefighters discovered intense flames coming from the back part of the house.

According to officials, the home’s smoke detectors did activate and alerted the occupants. However, Hoffman was unable to escape and was later found deceased in a bedroom of the residence.

Her daughter, 23-year-old Hailey Hoffman, shared their heartbreak, explaining that their family had already endured the loss of their father in 2021. Since then, it had just been the children and their mother. Hailey said their lives were turned upside down with Diana’s sudden passing, and that the fire also destroyed their home and all their belongings.

In response to the tragedy, the Hoffman children have started a GoFundMe campaign to aid in rebuilding their lives. As of now, the fundraiser has gathered $3,550 toward its $6,000 target.
