Fatal Lorena car crash death of Landon Harris – Obituary

Eighteen-year-old Landon Harris, a Lorena High School student, was tragically killed in a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday, May 20, just days before his graduation. The collision occurred at around 7 a.m. on U.S. Highway 77, just south of the Milam County line.

According to early findings from Texas Department of Public Safety troopers, a Toyota Tacoma heading southbound veered into the northbound lane, striking a Dodge Ram head-on. Harris was a passenger in the Tacoma.

The crash resulted in the deaths of all three individuals involved. Along with Harris, 36-year-old Jarrett Hawkins, who was also in the Toyota Tacoma, and 49-year-old Daniel Phillips, the driver of the Dodge Ram, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have notified the families of the deceased. In response to the tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support the Harris family, and it has already received more than $36,000 in donations. A separate fundraiser has also been organized for the Hawkins family.
