Fatal San Antonio shooting death of Marquise Durran Singer – Obituary
Authorities have identified 37-year-old Marquise Durran Singer as the victim of a deadly shooting that took place over the weekend at the Laurel Glen Apartments on the 11100 block of West Loop 1604 in San Antonio, Texas.
Responding officers found Singer’s body in a stairwell, and the Bexar County Medical Examiner confirmed that he died from gunshot wounds. A disturbing video, shared by a neighbor, captured the moments leading up to the shooting and shows a confrontation between Singer and a 28-year-old woman who police say previously had a relationship with him.
In the video, the woman is heard referencing a protective order she had against Singer. During the exchange, she and an unidentified man are seen trying to use the apartment elevator while telling Singer to leave. As Singer enters the frame, the footage reportedly captures the sound of at least two gunshots. The woman then appears to pursue Singer while holding the gun.
The suspect was detained shortly afterward, though San Antonio police have said she has not yet been arrested. The district attorney’s office will ultimately decide whether criminal charges will be filed in the case.
