Nathan Ha dies in fatal Long Island car crash

Fatal Long Island car crash death of Nathan Ha – Obituary

Twelve-year-old Nathan Ha, a student at Roslyn Middle School, died after being struck by a vehicle in Flower Hill, Long Island on Monday evening. The accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. when Nathan reportedly ran across Middle Neck Road near Northern Boulevard outside of a crosswalk and was hit by a Ford pickup truck driven by an 18-year-old.

Authorities stated that the driver stayed at the scene and fully cooperated with investigators. Nathan was taken to a hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries.

According to a GoFundMe page started by a family friend, Nathan was a cheerful and compassionate seventh grader who had a twin sister and a younger brother. The fundraiser had received over $70,000 in donations by Wednesday night.

While the fundraiser suggested the driver may have been speeding, Nassau County officials reported that an investigation conducted by the Homicide Squad found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing, and no charges were filed.
