Fatal Des Moines house fire death of Ndayirorere Yuliana – Obituary
A house fire in Des Moines early Wednesday morning has left three members of the same family dead, including 72-year-old Ndayirorere Yuliana. Emergency crews were called to the 6700 block of Three Lakes Parkway shortly before 3:15 a.m., just south of Army Post Road.
When firefighters arrived, the house was already in flames. Eight people were inside at the time. Among those who died were Ndayirorere Yuliana, 18-year-old Shannnella Nshimillimana, and 3-year-old Angela Peniel. All were residents of the home. One additional person was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the rest escaped without major injury. No firefighters were harmed during the response.
Fire officials say that so far, there is no indication the fire was set intentionally, though the investigation into its cause remains ongoing.
The grieving family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help with recovery and funeral expenses.
