Fatal Aberdeen train accident death of Philip Mantik Jr. – Obituary

Philip Mantik Jr., a 28-year-old resident of Aberdeen, lost his life Wednesday evening after being struck by a CSX freight train. The incident occurred near the intersection of Harford and Market streets while Mantik was on the tracks.

 

Emergency personnel responded swiftly, but Mantik was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident. The Aberdeen Police Department is working with CSX Transportation and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine what led to the tragedy.
