Tevon Haskins dies in fatal Woodbridge shooting

Fatal Woodbridge shooting death of Tevon Haskins – Obituary

Tevon Haskins, 29, of Woodbridge, was shot and killed on the evening of May 21 in what police describe as a targeted attack behind a shopping center in the 14200 block of Smoketown Road. Officers from Prince William County Police responded around 5:15 p.m. and, after a search of a wooded area behind the plaza, located three men suffering from gunshot wounds.

Haskins was declared dead at the scene, while two other men, both 42 years old, were transported to a nearby hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.

According to investigators, the shooting stemmed from a confrontation between Haskins and 45-year-old Dean Campbell, a man he had known previously. The encounter escalated from a verbal dispute into gunfire, resulting in Haskins’ death and the wounding of the two other individuals. Campbell fled before law enforcement arrived.

By the following morning, authorities located and arrested Campbell in the Fredericksburg area without incident. He now faces several charges, including murder, malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and illegal firearm possession as a convicted felon. He is currently held without bond, and a court date has yet to be announced.
