A tragic single-vehicle accident in Laredo claimed the life of 7-year-old Arturo DeHoyos III on May 21, 2025. The crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. near the Texas 359 Direct Connector along U.S. Highway 83.

According to initial findings, Arturo was thrown from the vehicle during the incident and was not secured with a seatbelt at the time. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but the injuries sustained were fatal.
