Fatal Gratiot County discovery death of Jenny Weir – Obituary

Jenny Weir, 43, from Clare County, was identified as the woman whose remains were found earlier this month in Gratiot County. The remains were discovered on May 3 by a farmer spraying a cornfield along Alger Road, north of M-46 in Pine River Township near Alma. After being sent to the Genesee County Medical Examiner’s Office for examination and identification, the remains were confirmed to be Weir’s. She was last seen alive on February 19, when she visited a patient at MyMichigan Medical Center in Alma and left the hospital on foot. A family member reported her missing to the Clare County Sheriff’s Office on February 26. Authorities currently do not suspect foul play in her death, but they are awaiting toxicology results to determine the exact cause and manner of death. The investigation remains ongoing.
