Fatal Plano shooting death of Juan Jose Rivera-Robles – Obituary
Juan Jose Rivera-Robles, 37, was fatally shot by a Plano police officer during a violent exchange Wednesday night, authorities confirmed. The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. on Ridgewood Circle when officers responded to a report indicating that a woman had been shot at the residence.
Upon arrival, police encountered Rivera-Robles outside the home. According to the department’s report, he fired a weapon at the officers. In response, an officer discharged their firearm, striking Rivera-Robles, who died at the scene.
Emergency crews transported the woman involved in the initial 911 call to a nearby hospital. Police stated her injuries were not life-threatening.
No officers or additional individuals were injured. Investigations into the shooting are ongoing and are being handled by Plano Police’s Crimes Against Persons Unit in coordination with the Collin County District Attorney’s Office. Officials have not yet released the name of the officer involved or confirmed whether they have been placed on administrative leave.
