Latasha Jones dies in fatal Dallas head-on collision

Fatal Dallas head-on collision death of Latasha Jones – Obituary

Latasha Jones, 47, of Garland, lost her life early Sunday morning in a tragic two-vehicle crash on the Dallas North Tollway. The deadly collision occurred just north of Interstate 635 in the southbound lanes.

Authorities from the Texas Department of Public Safety reported that the crash took place around 4:34 a.m. A 2020 Dodge Durango, driven by James Souder, 32, of Dallas, was traveling in the wrong direction—north in the southbound lanes—when it slammed head-on into a 2018 Mercedes CLA250.

Jones, who was behind the wheel of the Mercedes, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers were also in the Mercedes. One of them, 37-year-old Quinisha Hall, died after being transported to a nearby hospital.

Another passenger, 31-year-old Kaliesha Smith, sustained critical injuries and was hospitalized. Her current condition remains unknown.

Souder, the driver of the Durango, was also hospitalized with serious injuries. Investigators believe intoxication may have played a role in the collision, but no official charges have been announced as of now.

The incident remains under investigation, and authorities have not released further information.
